How cancellations workThis cancellation policy explains clearly about the main rules regarding cancellation for the host and the guest.For the full detailed list of rules, see the Homii user terms and conditions agreement.1. Cancellations before the homestay period starts 【Terms and Use No.6.2 and 6.3】⑴ Cancellation by the guesta. When a guest would like to cancel a reservation before the reservation has been confirmed (payment required by 7 days before the homestay starts)• The guest can cancel reservation proceedings at any time.• The guest doesn’t need to pay a cancellation fee.• The host can’t ask Homii to receive the host payout.

b. Cancellations after the reservation has been confirmed• The guest can cancel a homestay that is already reserved.• The guest won’t receive any refund of first monthly homestay fee which is already paid.• The host will receive the first month’s host payout.

【About reservations】To confirm a reservation, the guest has to pay the monthly homestay fee for the first month to Homii by 7 days before the homestay starts. Reservation proceedings are complete once the payment to Homii is made.

If the guest doesn’t pay the monthly homestay fee for the first month to Homii by 7 days before the homestay starts (once the day 7 days before the Homii starts has past) reservation proceedings will be automatically cancelled. In this case, the guest has to restart the reservation from the beginning.

⑵ Cancellation by the hosta. When a host would like to cancel a reservation before the reservation has been confirmed (payment required by 7 days before the homestay starts)• The host can cancel reservation proceedings before the reservation is confirmed (This means that even if the host has permitted a request with the guest, until the guest pays the monthly homestay fee for the first month to Homii, the permitted request doesn’t have any restriction on the host. Thus, before the reservation is confirmed, the host can still accept reservations from other guests). In this case, the host has to contact Homii to let us know the host will cancel reservation proceedings.• Unless the host has an appropriate reason to cancel reservation proceedings, Homii can ask for a cancellation fee from the host as shown by the table below.• The guest can’t ask for any payment to Homii.

b. Cancellation after a reservation is confirmed• A host can’t cancel a reserved homestay unless Homii agrees that there is an appropriate reason to cancel.• When the host cancels the homestay after the reservation is confirmed, Homii can ask for a cancellation fee from the host as shown by the table above.• Homii will refund to the guest the monthly homestay fee for the first month minus the Homii service fee. The guest can’t ask payment to Homii or the host for anything else.

Cancellations after the first week of the homestay has ended 【Terms and Use No.6.7】⑴ Cancellation based on the guest’s personal circumstances• Homii will determine whether the cancellation is deemed based on the guest’s personal circumstances.• The day that Homii acknowledges the cancellation is the same as the end of the homestay (unless Homii specifies another day).• The guest is responsible for payment up to the day that Homii acknowledges as the end of the homestay (regardless if the guest leaves before that day. The maximum amount is the amount for one month).• The host will receive the host payout from Homii for the amount up to the day that Homii acknowledges as the end of the homestay.⑵ Cancellations based on the host’s personal circumstances• Homii will determine whether the cancellation is deemed based on the host’s personal circumstances.• In this case, the end of the homestay would be 14 days after Homii acknowledges the cancellation (unless Homii specifies another day).• A guest has to pay the monthly homestay fee up to the day that Homii acknowledges as the end of the homestay. If the monthly homestay fee that the guest has already paid exceeds this amount, the guest will be refunded appropriately by Homii.• The host will receive the host payout on a per diem basis based on the day that Homii acknowledges as the end of the homestay.
